On the occasion of the release of 20th installment of PM KISAN Samman Nidhi Scheme, the hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi transfer about Rs 20,500 crore to more than 9 crore 70 lakh farmers today. As a part of this, KVK Dimapur in collaboration with ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre, ATMA-Chumoukedima and Niuland organized two-way webcasting programme to witness this momentous occasion which was conducted at the Council Hall, Naga United Village today the 2nd August 2025. Shri Mhathung Yanthan, MLA and Advisor, Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Nagaland graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the programme. He emphasized the farmers to enroll for PM KISAN Scheme and to utilized the Rs.2000 given to the farmers in a proper way so that it can enhanced farming communities and in a year the farmers will get Rs. 6000 under this PM KISAN scheme. He stressed that todays farming should be Technology driven farming, implementation of Farm machineries so that we can increase the income from our farming activities. Farmers should take advantage of the good soil and climate that we have been blessed and also to go for crop rotation of two to three crops in a year. He further elaborated that farming communities plays a huge role in providing food for the people. The programme was also attended by dignitaries namely Shri Wezope Kenye, IAS, Agriculture Production Commissioner, Govt.of Nagaland, Shri Sanuzo Nienu, Director of Agriculture, Smt. Rosemarry Ezung, Joint Director, Department of Agriculture, Smt. Moainla Pongen, District Agriculture Officer, Chumoukedima, Shri Ronzamo Kikon,Deputy Director Department of Agriculture, Shri. L. Hoshito Chophi, District Agriculture Officer, Dimapur, Govt. of Nagaland, other state officials from DAO Chumukedima, DAO Niuland, DAO, Dimapur, ATMA, Scientist of ICAR Nagaland Centre, Medziphema, Village Council Chairman and Gaon Bura, Naga United village. Altogether, 330 participants attended today’s programme. Farmers from different villages and blocks of Chumoukedima, Dimapur and Niuland Districts attended the programme. An input distribution of vegetables seeds to the farmers was also conducted. Further, the programme ended with farmer scientist interaction.
